Jose Mourinho |
MADRID - Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho is considered a genius since he's still in elementary school. It is said to be a former philosophy teacher Mourinho, Sergio Manuel, who called his disciples as one of the best coaches in the world.
Mourinho is now aged 49 years and became one of the most successful coaches in the history of football, after he won the UEFA Cup, two league, two Serie A titles and two Champions League, and one La Liga title.
However, Portugal's national coach often gets criticized for thinking and attitudes that are considered controversial. But Sergio explains, it is the way Mourinho to understand that in the game there are more than two teams in the field.
"Mourinho wanted to understand that football is not just a physical activity, but there are many other things, that it is a human activity," said Sergio, as reported by the United States, Monday (07/16/2012).
"To know about football, he (Mourinho) need to know a lot about people, not just about what happens on the field. To be successful, he understands that he needs to know what is behind the football," he explained.
"He knows that lead is a lead, but with specific values. He prepares his players not only technically, but also mentally, so they know what to do on the field," he said.
He also knows why Mourinho is often criticized, according to Sergio, it can not be separated from the difficulty to understand the former coach of Inter Milan and FC Porto it.
"It is clear that a genius like him to be criticized and people find it difficult to get along with him, because he mastered the football and he is above all the coach," he said.
"When dealing Porto for example, they play with two or three different ways. Difficult for us to understand a genius," he concluded.
